The Infiniti Q50 ticks all the right boxes for those looking for a classy, intelligent, athletic sports sedan.
The car boasts a sleek exterior of flowing lines based upon the Essence concept car Infiniti debuted four years ago. After a 2020 update, it features potent engines to match the sleek shape. The Q50 is available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, the base engine is a 3.0L V6, which benefits from twin-turbocharging. In standard tune, it makes 300 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the high-output version delivers 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet. Power is transferred to the wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission.
The Q50 comes in five flavors -- Pure, Luxe, Sensory, Signature Edition and Red Sport 400. The base trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels with run-flat tires, speed-sensitive power steering, auto on/off LED headlights with LED fog lights, zero-lift front and rear aerodynamics and remote-open windows. Inside creature comforts such as dual-zone automatic climate control, one-touch up/down windows all around, aluminum appointments, 8-way power driver and passenger seats, a 6-speaker audio system with twin USB ports and steering wheel-mounted controls, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and dual Infiniti InTouch LCD displays.
Q50 Luxe models add pleasantries such as a power tinted moonroof with one-touch open/close functionality, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated steering wheel, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, rear automatic breaking with rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitor, automatic high beams, remote start, 360-degree camera, and front/rear parking sensors.
The Q50 Sensory models includes 19-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, leather front seats with improved bolstering and 12-way power adjustability on the driver's side and 10-way power on the passenger side, power adjustable steering column, memory driver's seat/side mirror/steering wheel, ambient lighting, 16 Bose speaker audio system, climate control with air purifier, auto-dimming/reverse-tilt side mirrors and navigation.
Signature Edition adds to the Sensory trim an exterior with dark chrome elements and Saddle brown upholstery.
Red Sport 400 adds flavor to the sporty sedan with staggered 19-inch wheels wrapped in performance tires, sport brakes with red calipers, magnesium paddle shifters, carbon fiber interior accents, aluminum pedals, a sport exhaust system and a sport suspension with automatic and driver control modes.
The Q50 will be the first Infiniti vehicle to package all the automaker's driver support technologies under the ProPILOT label. The model will offer Active Lane Control, which prevents drivers from veering out of their lane, as well as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and prevention, forward emergency braking, predictive forward collision warning, backup collision intervention and a second-generation steer-by-wire system.
There are two packages available for two distinctive models, the Seat & Sound Package for the Luxe trim, and ProActive Package for the Red Sport 400.
