2015 saw the unveiling of the all-new, dramatically styled Nissan Maxima at the New York International Auto Show. As a car “created by driving enthusiasts for driving enthusiasts,” the Maxima impressed show-goers with its striking design and impressive performance.
Nissan President and CEO Carlos Ghosn introduced the “sleek and distinctive” new Maxima, saying it was primarily designed and engineered in America for the US market and promising those in attendance that it would once again revolutionize the sedan market.
“For more than 30 years, the Maxima has fueled Nissan growth and popularity in the United States. This completely redesigned model signifies the return of the four door sports car. Form the inside out, the all-new Maxima is unlike any sedan you've ever seen,” he said. “We are confident this is the finest interior in its class… the new Maxima will pose a real challenge to cars that cost thousands of dollars more.”
The Maxima drives like no other sedan in existence, living up to the “4-door sports car” reputation its cultivated. The latest round of upgrades only solidifies the Maxima’s dominance of its class in both styling and performance, and the Maxima continues to be one of the most exciting rides on the road. From its sleek, modern design to its powerful precision handling, everything about the all-new Maxima makes it an exhilarating dream ride for anyone passionate about the total driving experience.
Maxima's styling showcases Nissan's updated design – signature boomerang lights, V-motion front end, and a unique floating roof appearance give a striking, dynamic presence on the road or parked. Maxima's premium, upscale interior is anchored by a driver's cockpit that rivals luxury vehicles.
The new Maxima packs a 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 that has been redesigned with more than 60 percent new parts, giving it the ability to wrench out 300 horsepower. An all-new, performance-oriented Xtronic transmission features stronger acceleration from a standing start and an all-new D-Step shifting logic that gives drivers lighting quick shifts at high throttle openings.
The new Maxima also provides drivers with the safety and security features they need. Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Cruise Control, Forward Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Warning are all available on Maxima SL, SR and Platinum grades.
Maxima's convenience and connectivity features include standard NissanConnectSM with navigation, 8.0-inch touch-screen display, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio and SiriusXM Travel Link™ applications, Online Search with Google® and more.
