Nissan has announced major wins in AutoPacific’s 20th annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, an industry-respected survey of more than 65,000 car and light truck drivers with new 2015 and 2016 vehicles. The 2016 Maxima, Murano, Rogue and Frontier have all been named the top vehicles in their segments. This latest batch of four wins is the second most every won by a single car manufacturer, proving once again that “innovation that excites” is the key ingredient in customer satisfaction.
Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations, said the decisive victories at the VSAs are just an echo of the same message being heard loud and clear from Nissan buyers across the nation.
"The 2016 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are confirmation of what we're seeing everyday in Nissan showrooms nationwide – buyers are responding to the redesigned Maxima, Murano and Rogue's styling, interior comfort, performance, fuel efficiency and advanced safety and security features," Mohnke said. "We're also proud that Frontier, a true workhorse in its class, continues to deliver on and exceed owner expectations year after year.”
The VSAs are unique, because they focus only on what drivers love about their card.
George Paterson, president, AutoPacific, said the VSAs are exclusively based on input from vehicle owners, measuring their satisfaction on a 50-point criteria of what they lover about their vehicle, rather than surveying what goes wrong.
"With most vehicles in the market being pretty well screwed together today, satisfaction is a better measure of how the vehicle is delivering on its ownership promise," said.
The class-redefining Nissan Rogue was entirely reimagined for the 2014 model year, and that revolutionary transformation continues with the latest convention-challenging addition to the Rogue family. The 2016 Nissan Rogue has bold, expressive styling that communicates an expectation-defying aesthetic.
The Maxima, Murano and Rogue have all been totally reimagined from the tires up within the past three models years and continue to exhibit sales leadership in their respective segments. Maxima sales are up 146 percent for 2016, Murano sales have increased 46 percent, and Rogue sales are up 6.7 percent – following a 44 percent increase in 2015. Sales of Frontier have increased 21 percent in 2016.
The electrifying 2016 Nissan Murano is the flagship vehicle for Nissan’s brand spectrum of vibrant SUVs and crossovers. The new Murano is a pure expression of the advanced design direction Nissan is taking, encapsulated but the dynamic V-motion front end, one of a kind “floating” roof, and crystal clear, “daylight bright” LED boomerang lights.
The new Maxima’s redesigned 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 has more than 60 percent new parts, packing on more power and giving it the ability to pound out 300 horsepower.
The Nissan Frontier continues to be a leader in the mid-size truck segment, combining premium hardware, extraordinary power and an exceptional level of on- and off-road performance. Frontier is offered in a choice of two powerplants, both King Cab and Crew Cab body styles and in 4x2 and 4x4 driveline configurations, along with five trim grades.
