Over 45 years of engineering have seen many exciting changes, but the iconic Nissan 370Z Coupe retains the unmistakable “dynamic motion” and aggressive performance of its predecessor, the 240Z. A fluid silhouette, short wheel base, wide track, and “low visual gravity” combine with flourishes like the fierce “boomerang” shape of the headlight/taillight treatment to give the 370Z an instantly recognizable profile that continues to fascinate sports car lovers.
The Z® Coupe lineup has four trim levels — 370Z, Touring, Sport, and Sport Tech — providing drivers with four fully-equipped vehicle models, with no additional option packages. Available Bose® audio systems with Active Noise Cancellation and Active Sound Enhancement remove the unpleasant low frequency vehicle noise but preserve and enhance the exhilarating sound of the 370Z’s powerful engine performance. This system improve’s the acceleration experience by giving drivers a more “pure” engine sound and is also used in the legendary Skyline GT-R.
But at the heart of any high-performance vehicle is a high-performance engine, and 370Z Coupe is no exception. The exhilarating driving experience of the 370Z is powered by a potent 3.7-liter VQ37VHR engine with Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL), which packs a powerful punch with 332 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 270 pound-feet of torque. Drivers can chose between the immediate feel of a 6-speed manual transmission with an available SynchroRev Match® synchronized downshift rev matching system or the smooth reliability of a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The light, rigid structure of the 370Z was designed for stability and speed. The FM platform and finely proportioned body give it enhanced performance with the classic look and feel of a great sports car. The light body incorporates aluminum door panels and an all-aluminum hood and hatch.
The sculptured styling and dynamic performance of the 370Z make it a thrilling driving experience, but it also boasts a long lists of pleasure and entertainment features. The cockpit of the 370Z has a traditional two-seat arrangement built around a deeply scooped instrument panel. All key gauges are attached to the steering column, leaving the driver free to put the wheel in whatever position best suits their height and driving style without compromise visual access to important information.
But not all interior features are entertainment oriented. In models with manual transmission, the shifter is padded to improve shifting and all models include arm and knee rests that promote proper body positioning while cornering. Standard Bluetooth® handsfree phone system, USB inputs and black-finish 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels come with all models.
If you’re thinking about buying a sporty, high-performance coupe like the 2016 Audi A5, the 2016 Scion FR-S, the 2016 Honda Civic or even the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette, you may get better performance values from a 2016 Nissan 370Z Coupe.
